Heading into the 2019-2020 school year, Regina Dominican welcomed new faculty and staff members, including Mrs. Hart. Mrs. Hart is working for Regina as the events and volunteer coordinator. She was really thrown into the deep end, as one of Regina’s biggest school events- the student Paws Up Raffle – kicked off only seven weeks into the new school year.

Mrs. Anna Hart kicked off her career by graduating college with a B.A. in English and Visual Communication Design from the University of Notre Dame. While at the University of Norte Dame, she participated on a boxing team as well as participating in campus ministry. Her favorite hobby today is running. Graduating with those clubs and an astonishing degree behind her, she was able to score a job as a high school english teacher at an all girls high-school  in Oakland, California.

Mrs. Hart was born in Georgia, but liked living in California. However, she ended up moving to Chicago last June after getting married to a Chicagoan. Mrs. Hart starting looking for places to work, searching for the same type of environment she was used to at the old high school she taught at. Regina, being all girls as well, was easily a perfect fit for her. Mrs. Hart believes in the all-girl environment, explaining that it offers a more encouraging environment where girls can be their authentic self. When asked though how Regina is different to her old job, she said the student’s are the biggest difference. “Girls here have a lot more school spirit, and are more enthusiastic,” Hart explained. In addition, she said how Regina girls are more competitive, which benefits the student raffle which Mrs. Hart runs. Besides from the raffle, Mrs. Hart is excited for the Black and White Gala in March.

Mrs. Hart sums herself up perfectly when asked to describe herself in one sentence, describing herself as “a competitive person who thinks creatively.” Regina is very excited to have Mrs. Hart, with her ‘y’alls’ and all. It is safe to say Regina Girls heart Hart.
