Thom Hamilton, the Singing Voice in the Hallways!
Regina Dominican offers a warm welcome to one of the newest additions to their staff, Mr. Thom Hamilton!
When asked about his responsibilities at school, he said he “does God’s work.”
Anything the school needs to be fixed or prepared, Mr. Hamilton is there to do it. He chose to come to Regina because of the connections he has to this school. Mr. Fred Donnelly’s father is friends with Mr. Hamilton’s mother-in-law. He heard about the job opening, and jumped at the bit to work at the school.
Mr. Hamilton is no stranger to Chicago. He was raised in Rogers Park, where he attended several catholic grade schools. He planned to attend St. George High School in Evanston, but ended up going to Evanston Township High School due to financial reasons. After high school, he joined the United States Navy. He was deployed at a port in San Diego, where he spent 12 years of his life.
His favorite thing to do is “to relax and sit on his gluteus.”He also owns a 1972 Triumph GT6 Mach 6 that he hopes to restore in the coming years. When asked to describe himself in three words, he answered, “cute, witty and charming”.
Hamilton is not shy of giving! He loves helping others and making people smile. He is even two pints away from donating 100 pints of blood to a single organization. Now that’s something to be proud of!
Hamilton said none of this would be possible without his family. His wife, Laura is a drama teacher at the Latin School of Chicago. He has two children, Abigail and Samuel. Abigail is getting married October 16th (the same day as Fall Fling!), and Hamilton couldn’t be prouder!
Regina is so happy to have Hamilton at our school. He brightens the halls with his joyful personality, and fills them with his songs. Welcome to Regina, Mr. Thom Hamilton!
