Student Services is happy to welcome Kelly Ryan to their department. Ryan is an alumna of Regina. As the new coordinator, Ryan is looking forward to her first year as a primary resource for students as they enter the inviting space.. She said, “I am excited to get to know the students and embrace change.”
Ryan attended St. Tarcissus, which is now St. Elizabeth of The Trinity. She graduated from Regina in the class of 2005. She attended Northeastern Illinois University, where she furthered her education with a major in Human Resource Development and Psychology.
Before coming to Regina, she had a job for the last ten years in corporate human resources. She decided it was time for her to make a career change. She said, “I’m an alum, so that was appealing to me to come back to the high school I went to.”
There are many skills from her previous job that can be applied to working in Student Services. Kelly said, “There are a lot of similar things that I deal with on a daily basis in student services that relate to my prior experience.”
Since her high school years at Regina, many changes have certainly been made. Besides the addition of the Reynold Family Commons, an updated auditorium, and a new dance studio on the second floor and athletic field where the convent once stood, Ryan first noticed that Mrs. Allworth was no longer teaching English, but is now in the administration wing as the assistant principal.
Ryan hasn’t wasted any time getting back in the swing of high school life as she is also an assistant coach with the varsity volleyball team. In her free time, Ryan can be found reading, running, or spending time with her husband and her dog.
Students can visit Ryan in Student Services where guidance counselors, Chris Beeftink and Terese Sullivan can be found.
