On November 17 and 18, the Regina community is invited to watch the lively and fun-filled musical, “The Music Man.” This musical stars Professor Harold Hill, played by Jack Howard, who is a con man that tries to tell the members of the stubborn town of River City, Iowa, to create a boy band to solve the “problems” of the city.

Professor Hill meets and convinces some people of the town including, Mayor Shinn (Nikki Thanas) and his wife Eulalie (Emma Donovan), the gossip women of the town (Natalie Hamilton, Maggie Stutz, Amanda Zachar, and Asia Harris, Molly Fay), and quartet members (Grace Golembiewski, John Williams, Lindsay Whitehead, and Nicolette Anichini).

Hill convinces many, but not the town librarian, Marian (Lisa Spaniak) and her close friend Marcellus (Maya Cornejo). “I think the audience should expect a lot of dancing and big group numbers,” says Lisa Spaniak, who plays Marian in the “Music Man.” “It is so much fun to perform and I hope that everyone who comes will enjoy seeing it just as much as we enjoy acting in it.”

Molly Fay, who plays Mrs. Squires, stated, “I think the audience is going to absolutely love the show! I would say my favorite scene/song is “Marian the Librarian” because of how well it showcases the romance between Harold and Marian. I relate most to Marian. Her heart is always clear and in the right place. This musical comes to life, and it would not be the same without the crowd.”

Another cast member, Grace Golembiewski, plays quartet member, Olin Britt, added, “The audience has a lot to expect. My favorite song is “Ice Cream” with the quartet because it is super fun to sing and perform. I love my quartet peeps! The audience is going to see a beautiful set, wonderful songs, and above all the hard-working music and theater department.”

The fun-filled play wouldn’t be a hit without you there! Make sure to take time and see the wonderful acting and sets done by your fellow peers.

“The audience should expect a lot of fun, upbeat, and dancing scenes,” stated by Jack Howard as Harold. Can’t wait to see you November 17th or 18th at 7:30. P.M in the auditorium.
