DIY Smoothie Bowls
Smoothie bowls are the latest healthy trend! You can pick any smoothie flavor and top it with fruit, granola, nuts, and so much more. This delicious treat is packed with protein and various vitamins. Smoothie bowls are great way to change up your breakfast routine and are quick and easy to make. Below are the ingredients and instructions to making a berry smoothie.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of various frozen berries
- 1 frozen banana
- 2-3 teaspoons of almond or coconut milk
- Optional: 1 scoop of plain or vanilla protein powder
- Toppings can include fruit, granola, chocolate, chia seeds, coconut flakes, and whatever else you desire. If you want to stay on the healthier route fruit, chia seeds, granola, and coconut flakes are a great option. These topping will add even more nutrients, fiber, and protein to your smoothie bowl. Also, if you do not mind adding more sugar, chocolate chips creation sweeter.
Instructions:
- First, add the frozen berries and banana to the blender. Blend the fruit on low until only small bits remain
- Next add almond milk and blend on low. Make sure to scrape down the sides if needed until the mixture reaches smooth consistency as shown below.
- After, pour the smoothie mixture out of the blender in a bowl of your choice. Then, add the toppings of your choice.
- Finally enjoy your smoothie bowl! If there are left overs store the smoothie in the freezer and let it thaw before consuming it again.
