Ebola Spreads in Africa
Ebola, called Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever, has spread throughout West Africa in countries including Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.  The poverty within these countries makes it difficult to halt Ebola. Over 5,300 people have been infected with a death-toll, so far, of 2,622.

Secret Service Admits that Armed Intruder Entered White House
A veteran of the Iraq war, Omar Gonzalez overpowered a Secret Service agent and made a dash all the way to the East Room of the White House until Secret Service forces overpowered him. Gonzalez had a knife on him and ammunition in his car. Secret Service Director Julia Pierson said that the emergency plan was “not executed properly” when Gonzalez crossed the fence onto the White House property.

Thousands of Flights Delayed at O’Hare Airport
A 36 yr. old man, Brian Howard, an FAA telecom contractor allegedly set fire in the air traffic control tower on Sept. 26 in a suicide attempt.  2,100 flights were cancelled across the nation. Felony charges are being pressed against Howard. In the meantime, mid-west flights will take a few weeks to get back to a normal schedule.
Ferguson, Missouri Still a Town of Unrest
Unrest and protests continued to plague Ferguson, Missouri after an unarmed 18 yr. old was killed by a police officer in August. Protests and animosity between police and Ferguson citizens continued throughout September. Witnesses have given different accounts of what occurred the evening of August 9. The FBI continues to investigate the events surrounding Brown’s death.

Scots Decide to Stay Part of UK
Scottish citizens, in a margin of 55% to 45%, voted to remain a country of the United Kingdom. A remarkable 85% of Scotland’s citizens voted on Sept. 18. The powers of Westminster have indicated that they will take a hard look at the structure of Great Britain.

Kurdish Refugees Pour into Turkey
Fleeing the persecution of the terrorist ISIS, refugees, mostly women and children, flocked over the Syrian border into Turkey. This surge of Kurds has created a humanitarian crisis.

Cease-Fire Between Russia and Ukraine Finally Brings Calm
A cease-fire between Russia and Ukraine was initiated on Sept. 5. The agreement includes an immediate end to fighting along with an exchange of prisoners and a 6-mile buffer zone along Ukraine’s borders.
