Corce Nuez Goon

Corce Nuez Goon is the head supervisor of the cafeteria.

How did you get this job?
I started working here because of my daughter, Courtney Goon, went here. She graduated in 2011.

What is the daily routine?
I make a lot of soup and we have to get the main dish ready.

How do you decide on the menus?
We try to come up with a menu that appeals to everyone so students and staff don’t get bored with it.  We want to have something for everyone, whether you are a vegetarian or not.  We try to change it up every week.

What is your favorite recipe?
I like making the Regina bowl, mostaccioli, and lasagna.

Do you cook for your family on the holidays?
For the holidays I cook for my family and do a lot of traditional Filipino cooking.

Do you do any activities outside of the cafeteria?
I’m an animal lover!  I have four chinchillas.  Everyone always wonders why I have so many!  I also have a hairless Sphinx cat.

Have you always liked to cook?
Yes, I learned all my cooking from my mom.  I always tell her I’m going to get all of her recipes.  My favorite is pancit, a dish with pork, chicken, and shrimp.
