I know that most people already have a preconceived notion about what their favorite dog breed is. However, I am going to try and change your mind. Golden Retrievers are the best dogs to own.

As an owner of two Golden Retrievers myself, I can attest that they are the best. The American Kennel Club also ranked them as the third most popular dog breed to own.

Golden Retrievers are friendly and love cuddling up with any human in sight. They are definitely family dogs considering they love children. Goldens are also very social. They get along with every type of dog.

Goldens are also the perfect vacation pet. They have  the ability to swim and can out-swim most people, although they would not want to leave your side in the first place. In this way, Goldens are very compassionate. They are there to pick you up when you are feeling down. They are the first ones to comfort you in your times of need.

They are also very intelligent dogs, which allows them to be easily trainable. Why wouldn’t you want a dog that can learn fast? A Golden retriever will doing commands such as giving you their paw and sitting (for a treat of course)  in no time!

The one thing you need to know is there is a lot of responsibility involved with having a Golden Retriever. They need constant attention. They cannot go unattended for too long because they constantly need human interaction. They also have a ton of fur. Personally, this does not bother me because I think they are very soft and fluffy. However, their fur requires weekly vacuuming of your rugs and monthly grooming. You are also sure to take a piece of them with you everywhere you go with a little bit of their fur left on your clothing.

Goldens are definitely the go-to dog. You will never be disappointed with them as a pet. They will always be loyal and by your side. You will always have the best memories with them that will stay with you forever.
