Why Am I So Crazy About this Place?
Is it because my five sisters attended Regina Dominican and all six of us share so much in common? Is it because I made my best friends for life here at Regina? Is it because my love and passion for basketball was fueled by four years of the most successful seasons seen at Regina? Is it because I spent a lot of time in detention with Mrs. Allworth (not really, but that would have been so fun)!
I think I am crazy about Regina because of all these reasons and so many more. I remember that I waited and waited and waited to finally be old enough to attend Regina. I was so excited to finally be a Regina girl. I am the fourth of my six sisters to attend Regina Dominican. We were six girls who were born in a span of four years (two sets of twins), and at one point, five of us attended Regina at the same time. We rolled out of bed every morning, threw on our uniforms and headed down Lake Street to school.
Regina taught me so many things. I knew I received a great academic education, but Regina was more than just that. I participated in volleyball and basketball. I was on student council for four years and I sang in the choir. When everything was said and done, all of these experiences and opportunities and friendships made me the person I am today. Believe me, I was so ready to take on anything.
Now that I am back at Regina as the Vice President of Advancement, I still have the same excitement of being a Regina girl. I love this school and wish everyone could understand and experience how truly special this place is. With graduation just around the corner, a new chapter will begin for our seniors. The good news is that they will be ready to take on the world. We welcome them to the Panther Sisterhood. Who knows, in twenty years, they may return to work here and be just as crazy about this place as I am!
