Are you wondering what’s coming to theaters this year? With a variety of different genres on top several movies coming out each month, what will 2017 have to bring? The recently released Hidden Figures  received a Rotten Tomatoes score of 92%. This inspiring film is based on a true story set in the 1960s. Three intelligent  woman:  Katherine Gobal Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson are working for NASA. They all use their special skills to help launch Astronaut John Glenn into space in the race against the Russians. This movie was released on Dec. 25, 2016, so this isn’t necessarily a 2017 movie, but if you haven’t seen it go see it.

Here’s a list of Movies coming in 2017!

1. A Dog’s Purpose, is a heart warming film about many lives lived. Josh Gad voices the role of a dog who has touched many people’s hearts as he changes into different dog for different people. This movie was released on January 27, 2017. Sounds good right?

2. The Space between Us. Gardner Elliot is born on Mars and he chats online with a girl from Colorado. He travels to Earth to find her, but soon finds out that his organs have trouble adjusting to the atmosphere. This film stars Asa Butterfield and Britt Robertson. It will be hitting theaters on Feb. 3.

3. Split is the horror/thriller genre starring James McAvoy. A man with split personalities kidnaps three girls. This film is currently in theaters.

4. The Boss Baby, an animated movie starring Alec Baldwin. This is about a young boy getting a new baby brother who happens to be a CEO. They bump heads at first, but then they ban together for different reasons. You can see this movie on March 31, 2017.

5. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men tell No Tales, starring Johnny Depp. Captain Jack Sparrow returns for the fifth movie of the series, and the ghost of his nemesis has come to haunt him and his only chance of surviving is Poseidon’s Trident.  This is coming to theaters on May 26, 2017.

6. Despicable Me 3, is back for the third movie in the Disney Pixar series.  Steve Carrell who plays Gru is yet again hunting down another villian who he has to stop. However, he’s married. His daughters will also be featured.  Catch this film in theaters on June 30, 2017.

7. Justice League, Ben Affleck who plays Batman gets help from wonder woman(Gal Gadot) to face an enemy. Nov.  17, 2017, it’ll be here.

8. Star Wars: Episode VIII,  the saga continues. This picks up where Force Awakens left off. Starring Daisy Ridley, and Mark Hamill. This will be here Dec. 15, 2017.

9. Pitch perfect 3, the third movie to the trilogy. This is more acapella adventures, starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson. Coming to theaters Dec. 22, 2017.
