Ghouls and Goblins Take Over Regina’s Hallways
Spooky, Scary and Inventive that’s how I would describe Halloween at Regina Dominican. The halls of the school are filled with a variety of costumes, from dinosaurs, pirates, princesses, and, even, Bob Ross, to e-boys, football stars, gnomes riding unicorns, Spiderman, and even Jake from State Farm. The variety of costumes displayed by both our students and faculty showed that Halloween isn’t just for kids anymore.
The whimsical wonder of dressing up like you never would have dreamed of doing on a regular day seems to be the appeal of this holiday. The Regina community’s dedication to Halloween was evident during the lunch periods, which became an impromptu fashion show where students got to show off their creative costumes to their friends, teachers, and classmates. Also, during lunch, the student council enticed students with candy to come up and write a Halloween Haiku.
On the last day of gnimocemoH, there was an assembly to celebrate the end of gnimocemoH (our school’s version of Homecoming). The most spirited senior, Caraline Quinlan, was chosen and crowned as the Queen of gnimocemoH.
Caraline Quinlan, receiving this recognition said, “I am honored and will wear this with pride.”
She along with the girls from other grades who were nominated for a spot on the Queen’s court had the most spirited demeanor during the week and their costumes were also great during the week’s festivities.
This Halloween was a celebration of not only this haunted holiday but also a day to bring the community together. The approach to costumes and various lunchtime activities etc. show that when Regina celebrates Halloween, they do it in ghoulish style!
