Staff Profile: Mr. Logan Jones
Paws Up to our newest member in the Regina Community. Meet, Mr. Logan Jones!
Meet Mr. Logan Jones! He is Regina Dominican’s new Tech Theater teacher and Technical Director. Before he found himself in our hallowed halls, he went to Kansas State University where he took classes in what else…theatre. Not only did he direct and act in various performances at Kansas State, but he also was a member of La Societe Francaise (French Club), National Society for Collegiate Scholars, Golden Key, National Society for Leadership and Success, and Phi Kappa Phi. Not only did he go to class with this impressive amount of extracurriculars, he also graduated from college prior to the age of 21.
Mr. Jones is a part-time faculty member, but he is a full member of our Regina community. When Mr. Jones isn’t teaching tech theatre to the drama majors of the future, he is working as a union stage manager with About Face Theatre.
When asked how he heard of Regina, he says, “I was recommended by my friend Elizabeth, the wife of social studies teacher, Mr. Michalek. She and I have worked together professionally as stage managers in Chicago.”
Mr. Jones has never been involved with teaching nor has he been involved with a single-gender school or in a private school setting. Related to this, Jones said, “i\It’s Fascinating! I’m used to working in environments with an array of gender expression, but honestly, I don’t notice the difference as much as I thought I might going in.”
Mr. Jones is a very positive uplifting person. He is proud of the work he does and what his students learn from him. Which they then take out an utilize in the real world. When posed with the question of what was his favorite part of day at regina? Jones simply stated, “Seeing my students feel pride in what they’ve accomplished.”
Mr. Jones is a seemingly very laid back individual who is a fresh perspective at Regina; since this is the time in our lives that we all live for tomorrow and not for today. He gives a calming vibe in a world of chaotic school life. When describing himself Jones said, “I’m going to use a quote… ‘Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind’ ”
Mr. Logan Jones is a tech theatre extraordinare with a hopeful mindset and a winning attitude. He is a good teacher and a great mentor for budding drama enthusiast. Though he only arrived a few months ago he is already an integral part of this community and we are glad to have him here.
