Rudolph’s Shiny New Year
There’s no better way to celebrate the holidays than with the television show, Rudolph’s Shiny New Year. Not only does it have elements of Christmas, it also focuses on the New Year. Perfect for the month of December and soon to be January.
The story starts with Father Time sending Santa a message telling him that Happy, the baby New Year, is missing. Without Happy, time can not progress, and it will remain the old year forever. With the snowy weather, Santa sends out Rudolph with his shiny red nose to find the baby, Happy
Not only must Rudolf find the baby in a snowstorm, he must contend in finding Happy along with Eon,the evil buzzard, who is also looking for Happy, in order that his life will never end.
Rudolph searches the islands of the Archipelago of Last Year travelling through time looking for Happy. Along the way, Rudolph meets many friends, including giant whales, cavemen, the three bears, Ben Franklin, and many more. It is almost like an entertaining history lesson within a holiday movie. The movie also addresses the themes of friendship and fitting in with others.
It is a great holiday classic and enjoyable for the whole family. You’ll have to watch the movie to see if it is Rudolf or Eon who finds Happy and if next year will come or if we will all be stuck in time!
