Among the many new transfer students to grace the halls of Regina Dominican this year, you will find Lorelai Arends.
Arends is in her junior year of high school. She went to grade school at Queen Of All Saints. She began her high school education at Loyola Academy but, after one year, she transferred to Willows Academy.
She was introduced to Regina by some of her friends that attend here. After taking into consideration all the things she wanted in a school, Regina seemed like it would be a good match for her.
When asked about if she likes Regina, she said, “Yes!” enthusiastically. She also mentioned that she had no regrets when it came to transferring.
She said, “Loyola is just so big that everyone is kind of in their own little separate worlds and then compared to Willows, even though it was small, I would say there’s still more of a community here.”
Along with being a diligent student, Arends participates in some of the athletic programs here at Regina. She is on the tennis team and plans to participate in other sports during the year.
Not only does Arends have athletic talent, she is involved in many clubs Regina has to offer including: DEI Club and Spanish Club. She participates in Orchesis and even has a role in the fall musical, “Chicago.”
Arends has plans to go to college and pursue a medical career as a radiologist.
When the final bell of the day rings and if she doesn’t have a practice to run to, Arends goes home to her brother and dog. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her friends and listen to music.
She is very excited to be a Panther and we are glad, too!
