Mrs. Laura Chang, a Regina alum, is the newest social studies teacher at Regina Dominican . Mrs. Chang grew up in Glenview and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help for grade school. She attended Regina and went to St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin majoring in sociology and anthropology. In her junior year of college, Mrs. Chang studied abroad in Cairo, Egypt for anthropology and archaeology. Mrs. Chang recently finished her graduate degree at DePaul University for a masters in Secondary Education.
This is Mrs. Chang’s first time teaching at a high school, but she did teach EMT at Oakton Community College for approximately eight years. Mrs. Chang also coached lacrosse at Regina right after college.
When asked about why she decided to come back to work at Regina, she said “ I loved attending Regina for high school. So the opportunity for me to teach Social Studies here came up, I was happy to come back.”
After teaching at Oakton Community College, Mrs. Chang discovered how much she loved to teach, so she decided to get her masters in education.
Besides school, Mrs. Chang is a really easy going person and very organized. She’s a very adventurous person and enjoys traveling and going on little adventures. For fun she likes to watch movies and play with her daughter as well as teach herself how to paint.
She was married in 2020 during the pandemic and now has a one and half year old daughter named Finley and another baby on the way, who’s due in April 2024!
