The Freshmen Retreat
On August 28, the freshman class attended their first high school retreat. The day was filled with ice breakers and other activities. The freshmen learned about what it means to be a Regina girl as well as meaning behind the four Dominican Pillars. At the end of the day, the class made prayer candles that represented a Dominican Pillar that they most identified with.
Back to School Mass
On Thursday, September 3, Regina held its first mass of the school year. Fittingly called “The Back to School Mass,” Fr. Peter blessed the faculty, staff, and students as the community begins the upcoming school year. Dominican Preachers Kathryn Cressy, Jessica Wollney, Delia Ritchie, Diane Kraemer, and Nora Byrne, all from the class of 2016, were commissioned during the mass.
All School Picnic
On Friday, September 11, the Regina community gathered for our annual All School Picnic. Due to the poor weather, students and faculty had lunch together in the cafeteria rather than the west field. The gathering was capped off with the singing of the loyalty song.
Leadership Speaker Series: Harry J. Kraemer
On Tuesday September 15th, Harry Kraemer came to give his words of wisdom about leadership to the Regina community. Mr. Kraemer is a Clinical Professor of Strategy at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He also is the author of the book From Values to Action: The Four Principles of Values-Based Leadership” and Becoming the Best: Build a World-Class Organization Through Values-Based Leadership.
Student Council Hosts the Annual ‘Daddy-Daughter Tailgate”
On September 20, Student Council hosted its annual “Daddy-Daughter Tailgate” event. Regina girls brought their dads to watch the Bears play the Arizona Cardinals. The day was filled with football, pizza, and a bags tournament.
Fall Honors Assembly
On September 29, the Regina community gathered to honor girls’ achievements for the 2014-2015 school year. Students were honored for their accomplishments in academics, sports, and other extracurricular activities.
