Is the New iPhone Really Bigger and Better?
In September, Apple, once again, has introduced their latest products, the very new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Just days after their release, the phones have hit records, selling close to 10 million phones in one weekend. The phones have many features that set them apart from other iPhones, including the 5s and 5c. Both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are bigger than previous iPhones, measuring at 4.7 and 5.5 inches and 6.9 and 7.1 millimeters. These qualities make them comparable to other large phones such as the Samsung Galaxy.
For those that like to take pictures, the iPhone 6 also features an even higher quality camera. “More people take more photos with iPhone than with any other camera. Now the iSight camera has a new sensor with focus pixels, and new video features,” Apple said on their website. In addition, the phones feature Touch ID technology, which lets users access their phones using their fingerprint. This allows them to approve certain purchases without having to enter in a password.
Apple also promises faster wireless connection with these latest phones. Compared to the 5s, the iPhone 6 downloads, explores the Internet, and makes video calls much faster. Voice-over LTE allows users to make such clear calls that it will seem as if the caller is talking to their friends face to face. “A superfast connection can make you feel like the whole world is within reach,” Apple said.
On the downside, Apple products tend to sway on the expensive side. Without a contract, the iPhone 6 retails from Apple at $649 with the iPhone 6Plus costing $749.
