What do you expect out of your students?
I expect my students to be on time to class and have all of their materials. I expect them to show respect to their peers and to me, to have pride in their work, and, of course, to love Latin.

Why did you become a Latin teacher?
At Loyola Academy I had the best teacher. She made Latin fun and relatable and made a dead language interesting. I wanted to have that effect on students. I figured my personality would bode well at a teaching job, since I like to be around people. I really liked high school and I want to make the experience enjoyable for my students.

Favorite part of RDHS so far?
My favorite part of RDHS has definitely been the girls. They are smart, respectful, inquisitive, and have great senses of humor!

Favorite high school memory?
My favorite high school memory was qualifying for the state cross country meet for the first time my sophomore year.

What are you looking forward to most this year?
I am most looking forward to cross country season and Gnimocemoh, even though I’m not exactly sure what it is.

Favorite Food?
Chocolate

Favorite Place to Shop?
Nordstroms

If you could live anywhere where would it be?
I would like to live in Rome because of the amazing Ancient Roman ruins and the access to Roman culture, food, and tourist attractions. As a Classics major, it was always a dream of mine to see the structures and monuments that I had studied for so many years in person.  Rome impacted me greatly the first time I went on class trip in college, and it would be amazing to go back to live as a professional.

Pets?
No.

Dream job when you were little?
I wanted to be a waitress because I love dining out. It seemed fun to serve people, walk around and engage in conversations with strangers. I think that this is also one of the reasons I love teaching, as you are constantly in motion and having thoughtful, academic conversations with intelligent students, especially at Regina Dominican.

Is it true that you are friends with Mr. Cummings’ fiancé?
Yes! We were really close friends in high school.
