Meet Mrs. Pike!
Mrs. Pike teaches history. She just moved to Chicago a few months ago. She has three children in their 20’s who all live in Chicago, too.
Q: What were you like in high school?
A: Let’s just say that I found high school challenging… I actually always found history boring, but I decided to teach it so that other people would not find it as boring as I did.
Q: What is your spirit animal? Why?
A: Oh, I haven’t ever thought about that! I guess I would say a cat because I have always had cats as pets. They are so comforting and I feel a connection to them.
Q: If you could invite three people over for dinner, dead or alive, who would they be? Why?
Abigail Adams because she was always encouraging women’s rights. Jane Addams because of all of her good work with the Hull House in Chicago. Alice Paul because of her strong values and the dedication she felt towards the women’s suffrage movement.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I love to travel, read, and spend time with my three kids because they are all living in Chicago!
Q: What is your favorite book?
A: Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. It’s set in during the Chicago World Fair, and it’s a nonfiction book because it actually all happened.
