Meet Mrs. Jarosik!
Ms. Jarosik is a new teacher here at Regina. You can find her in the math department teaching Algebra. Below are a few questions and answers to get to know Ms. Jarosik better. Welcome, Ms. Jarosik!
What college did you go to and what was your college experience like? Any advice to current seniors?
I went to the University of Notre Dame. I had wonderful experiences. I went to a lot of football games and studied a lot. It was also very unique to go to church in your dorm. We would go at 10 o’clock on Sundays in our pj’s. My advice to current seniors would be no matter what college you go to, what you put into school is what you will get out.
Where did you previously live? What did you do?
I was always the kid who moved every couple of years. I was born in Rhode Island, but I have lived in probably nine or ten different states. Most of the schools I attended are on the East Coast. I did, however, go to high school in Kansas. However, I consider Chicago home as I have been living here for over twenty years. I was involved with cheer-leading and Mathletes during high school. I also had a job throughout high school.
What do you do in your free time?
I like to run, although I don’t run far. I try to run a couple races a year. I also like to read and scrapbook.
What is your favorite type of music and why?
I like country music because it makes me laugh.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a teacher.
If you weren’t doing this job what would you be doing?
I’m not sure.
Do you have any funny or embarrassing stories from high school?
I had this male teacher who I really liked for Calculus and because I liked him I would try to be funny and annoying. Anytime he would explain something, I would raise my hand and say “why” in a high-pitched voice. And he would say “ why what?” And I would just say “‘why?”
If you could bring three people to dinner who would it be and why?
Well, I would want people who were funny, philosophical and intelligent, but I can’t think of any names right now.
The world is ending what would your last meal be?
Something very expensive like the best steak ever. Something that I could not usually afford.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
I would travel to Europe preferably England and France. I would like to travel there because I have never been there and I have read a lot about them.
