Meet Coach Hubbard
Coach Hubbard is a new face at Regina and is the newest varsity tennis coach. She currently lives in Glenview and will be moving to a military base in November to begin a career in army communications. Below are questions and answers to help get to know Ms. Hubbard better. Welcome Coach Hubbard!
What college did you go to and what was your college experience like. What advice could you give to current seniors?
I went to Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvannia. College was great. For me, it was a lot better than high school. The best advice I can give is to study hard, get really good at time management skills and just be yourself.
Where did you previously live or what did you do?
I am from Glenview, but I went to college in Pennsylvania for four years.
What do you do in your free time?
I don’t really have a lot of free time, but when I do, I usually nap.
What is your favorite type of music and why?
I like all music except EDM. Why? I just really like music, I guess.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A soldier.
If you weren’t doing this job what would you be doing?
I’d just be hanging out at home, probably working for my parents until I leave for the army in November.
Do you have any funny/embarrassing stories from high school?
I fell down the stairs on my butt once during a change in periods, so people were coming up the stairs. I was on the top of the stairs and slid right down on my butt all the way down and everyone just stopped and looked – this was my freshman year – and everyone just like turned around and kept doing what they were doing. No one helped me. Yeah and so I ended up spraining my tailbone so I had to carry around this like toilet shaped seat cushion. People would sign it, it was pretty funny.
If you could bring three people to dinner who would they be and why?
Audrey Hepburn. Gandhi would be pretty cool, but I don’t know if he would eat a lot. And then I don’t know. I can’t think of anyone else.
The world is ending. What would your last meal be?
Filet mignon and asparagus as a side vegetable.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
I’d probably go back to China because I know Chinese and I like being in places where I know the language.

Very nice for a brief interview. Devon was an outstanding tennis player and had other opportunities offered to her in that field after high schol. You are fortunate to have her coaching. I never got to see her play and have only been her stepgram for 5 years. But I know her to be an outstanding individual in many areas.. Congrats to Devon and your school. Love from Kentucky.
