Long Strides For Regina’s Cross Country Team
The Regina Dominican Cross Country team has been hitting the ground hard as they run this season with unbelievable performances from all levels. Practices are held daily and consist of interval, sprint, long distance, and hill workouts.
The girls are led by senior captains Meghan McCabe, Sydney Moore, Erin Metrick, and Caitlyn Birt. These girls have worked tirelessly to create a dynamic team relationship over the course of the first half of the season. Of course, the team would not be complete without the support and guidance from their coach, Scott Bohlke.
Coach Bohlke has a lot of confidence in the team, “This year’s Cross Country Team has been awesome”. Coach says, “They are really a hardworking and dedicated group of runners. It’s so exciting to see them gain confidence and improve their times each week. As we approach the end of the regular season, the girls are anxious to defend their GCAC White Division conference title and to make a strong bid for qualifying for State as a team.”
As the season progresses, the team plans to continue to give their all and embrace every practice. The team’s motto this year is “Panthers run in packs!” We’re so excited to see how the Regina Cross Country team does during the rest of their season. Go Panthers!
