Hoo Hoo Rah Rah for the ND Cheerleaders
The football season for the cheerleaders of Notre Dame College Prep is wrapping up. Although it has been a busy few weeks, Regina’s members of the team have had a great season so far.
Since tryouts last spring, the team has had many practices, attended UCA camp at Illinois State University, and finished out their football season.
Sophomore, Isabel Cerrado, shared her favorite memory of the season at UCA camp, “I met a lot of girls there and got closer with my team, and it was a really fun experience…to better ourselves as a team.”
An exhausting few days, camp was a highlight of their pre-season. ND cheerleaders attend all home football and basketball games, as well as pep assemblies and admission events, serving as ambassadors to Notre Dame College Prep.
Football season is always memorable under the Friday night lights. No matter the weather, the girls are always out on the sidelines cheering the Dons to victory.
Senior captain, Ciara McNeil, talks about the wrap-up of their season at football games, “We are just starting playoff games this week.”
Anna Greitfelt ’21 said that her favorite memory during the football season was, “…taking a picture in front of the ‘bullpen’ of boys.” She loved how they all tried to get in the picture, and it was lots of fun.
Next up for the ND cheerleaders is basketball and competition season. Make sure to support them by going to a game and joining them in cheering on the Notre Dame Dons.
