Fine Arts Open House Showcases Regina’s Talent
This year’s Fine Arts Open House featuring art, dance, drama, and music explored the theme, “Not Your Mother’s Shakespeare.” The night began with several vignettes focused on a modern interpretation of Shakespeare plays and sonnets. Interspersed with dramatic scenes were several performances by Regina Dominican’s chorale and even a dance interpretation from “Romeo and Juliet.”
After forty-five minutes of Shakespeare, the crowd made its way upstairs through the art department. In the art room, students, families, and friends could add their star to the glow in the dark interactive painting. Throughout the hallways and over the bridge, art by talented students were showcased. Street musicians by talented Regina students could be heard the entire evening.
Orchesis offered a silhouette rendering behind a gigantic white screen that added to the spectacular evening. After strolling through the hallway enjoying dancing, music, and art, the audience could participate in creative writing and have a treat or two.
The Fine Arts Department’s hard work truly highlighted the talent of Regina Dominican’s students and teachers.
