Elizabeth Michalek Is Regina’s Recruiter and Assistant Coach of Bowling and Softball
Regina welcomes one of their newest staff, Mrs. Michalek Recruiting/Assistant Coach. She is a graduate from Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri and Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mrs.Michalek has a bachelor of arts in graphic design with a minor in web design, photography, and theatre. Outside of Regina, she enjoys watching “Amazing Race” and “Survivor.” She loves traveling and wants to visit all of the country’s National Parks as well as seeing all of the places “In the 1000 Places to See Before You Dies” books, building LEGOs, and designing and making quilts.
Her full time job at Regina is recruiting. She also helps with the Auditorium rentals. She is also the assistant coach for bowling and softball. She started at Regina as one of the Auditorium supervisors during the 2019-2020 school year. When COVID hit, she became uncertain of maintaining her day job and wanted to find something that would give her a little piece of mind along with consistent hours. But she had a connection: her husband, social studies teacher, Andrew Michaelik.
Some fun facts about Mrs. Michalek is she has connection to the show “Queer Eye” on Netflix . It seems cast member, Jonathan is from the same town as she is and they even went to school together.
Another fun fact is that when her cousin had their first child, Mrs. Michalek vowed that she would make a quilt for everyone born in her family. Since then ,she’s completed five quilts and, during quarantine, she finished the tops of three more.
Lastly, an especially fun fact is that on her honeymoon, she rafted the worlds tallest raftable waterfall and fell out of the raft. Little about her family is she was born and raised in Quincy, located in west central Illinois along the Mississippi.
After graduating from college, she had an internship at Actors Theatre of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky after that she moved to Chicago. This May will mark her 10 year anniversary living in the Chicagoland area. Mr. and Mrs. Michelek love building Legos with their three nieces and nephews. She has two cats, Fozzie Bear, and Pinky, who are her pride and joy.
