One of the best parts of the Christmas season is all of the great movies that come along with it. One movie in particular, Elf (2003), seems to stand out to many people.

This hilarious movie directed by Jon Favreau focuses on a man named Buddy, played by Will Ferrell. Buddy grew up in the North Pole surrounded by Santa’s helpers,  but he always felt different from all the other elves. When he  finds out that he is actually a human he decides to find his real family in, where else, New York City. Much to Buddy’s surprise, his father, played by James Caan, is on Santa’s naughty list.

The film follows Buddy on his journey throughout New York City, and his mission to spread Christmas cheer with his real family and the New York community.

Whether you have never seen this movie before or whether you have seen it a hundred times, Elf is sure to make you laugh out loud. You can’t help but smile while watching Will Ferrell struggle to survive in the harsh city while decked out in tights.

Watching Elf while snuggled up on the couch with a blanket and some hot chocolate would be a great way to unwind after finals. This movie will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit!
