Dear Gina,
I am getting really nervous with exams coming up. Do you have any advice on how to study?
Dear Flustered with Finals,
My personal advice is to not cram the night before the test. It is almost impossible to teach yourself a semester’s worth of information in one night. Start studying early so that when you do come across a topic you do not understand, you can meet with your teacher to clarify any confusion. Additionally, if you begin studying earlier, you will reduce your stress level because it is very stressful to have stacks of study guides waiting to be finished. A great way to study is to go over past tests, quizzes, and homework assignments. A lot of teachers reuse similar questions from past tests or quizzes! Lastly, just be confident!
Dear Gina,
I am so sad to be going off to college and to be leaving my friends behind. How do you suggest I deal with this?
Dear Sad Senior,
Live in the moment! Enjoy the last few weeks you have left with your friends and teachers. College is a huge transition; it can be scary to start at a brand new place and make brand new friends. Remember, you cannot stay in high school forever. These are some of the best memories and best friends you will ever have. You can always see your high school friends in the summer and during breaks. College is new and exciting! Embrace the fact that you will be starting a new chapter in your life.
