Christmas Fun in the Windy City
Most of the Regina community is fortunate enough to live near or in the wonderful city of Chicago. Lucky for us, our city offers so many fun holiday outings for you and your family. My personal favorite is the Walnut Room located inside Macy’s on State Street.
The Walnut Room opened in 1905 and is not only a well-known Chicago landmark, but also home of many great family memories. The Great Tree, which is located at the center of the 17,000 square foot elegant dining room, is lit on November 2nd until January 5th. After a long day of holiday shopping, you should make a stop by the breathtaking 45-foot Christmas tree. As for the Walnut Room menu, although condensed from its regular menu due to the busyness of the holidays, is nothing short of delicious and mouth-watering. When it comes to the Great Tree Buffet – I would recommend getting the mandarin salad. Or, if you’re feeling a little chilly, then enjoy a warm bowl a lobster bisque. As for the entree, the traditional chicken pot pie is delightful. To finish it off, I recommend the frango mint chocolate ice cream pie and a hot cup of coffee.
For the kiddos, during the holidays they have a princess walking around granting wishes and sprinkling sparkles to make sure your wishes come true! Take a trip downtown to enjoy an evening under the twinkling lights and ornaments of the tree. Make it a family tradition!
