Bass Fishing Reels in Another Season
The Panther bass fishing season is back in full swing. Coached by Casey Kelly, the team is determined to have a successful season.
“I am hoping to become captain of the bass fishing team. But more importantly I want to win tournaments and advance farther than we have in previous years in competitions,” said Kathryn Cressy ’16.
“I am looking forward to catching my first fish. I can’t wait until it gets warmer outside so we can get out on the water,” said newcomer Rose Belcastro ’15.
When the weather is too cold and practice can’t take place at the Skokie Lagoon, the team has to be creative. At first the team practiced in the cafeteria, but the construction made it too difficult. Currently the team has been practicing on the stage in room 113, or on the field outside when the weather cooperates.
Although the team has grown this year with 15 athletes, Cressy added that she hopes to make bass fishing a more popular sport at Regina in the future.
