Athlete of the Week: 10/28/20
Regina Dominican Cross Country runner Anna Greifelt has been named Athlete of the Week for the Week of October 26-31. She was nominated by her head coach, Scott Bohlke, for being the team’s 2nd place finisher at the Regional, being a 4 year team member, and being a 2019 and a 2020 captain.
We were able to catch up with Anna for a quick interview.
BM: Congrats on being named the Athlete of the Week You were chosen because of your hard work, leadership, and your performance Saturday at the IHSA Regional. How does it feel?
AG: It’s really exciting to end my last season with Athlete of the Week, and I’m really grateful Mr. Bohlke nominated me.
BM: You are also a member of the track and field team. How are the 2 sports different? How are they similar?
AG: The main difference to me is the distance because cross country races are a lot longer than the events I run at track meets. The two are similar though in the team dynamic because track has relays that a lot of our team score depends on, and team cross country scores depend a lot on where individuals score too.
BM: What other activities are you involved with at Regina Dominican?
AG: I am Vice President of National Honor Society, and I also participate in Class Leadership Board, Dominican Preachers, Peer Leading, and Orchesis all throughout the year.
BM: Are you looking forward to competing Saturday at Harvest Christian, a course where you have ran previously?
AG: It’s my last meet ever, so it’s a little sad, but I’m really excited to finish off the season strong with the rest of my team.
BM: Ok, now some rapid fire questions:
AG: Favorite Season? Fall
AG: Favorite class? Anatomy
AG: Favorite pizza? Pepperoni
AG: Favorite Chicago sports team? Bears
Congratulations and best of luck as you continue your season!
