A Cinderella Story
A Cinderella Story (2004), directed by Mark Rosman, puts a modern spin on the classic fairytale, Cinderella.
The movie focuses on Sam Montgomery, played by Hilary Duff. Montgomery loses her parents at a young age and is forced to live with her evil stepmother and stepsisters.
She is forced to work at the family diner and do chores for her new family without any recognition. Although Montgomery’s homelife is miserable, she looks forward to the day she can meet her anonymous online love interest.
Montgomery is scheduled to meet her mystery man, played by Chad Michael Murray, at the school’s Halloween dance, although her evil stepmother has forbidden her to attend.
With the help of her friends, Montgomery tries to find a way to get to the dance without her family noticing. The modern recap of this favorite Disney classic points to a happy ending.
In my opinion, A Cinderella Story is the perfect romantic comedy. It’s a family-friendly flick that incorporates comedy, drama, and romance.
