Ms. Gianos

Jennifer Gianos grew up in Morton Grove, Illinois and attended Niles West High School prior to graduating from Dominican University. At Dominican she majored in history/criminology/sociology.  Her hobbies include cooking and baking, going to concerts, and traveling.  Ms. Gianos is now teaching history.

What do you expect of your students?
I want them to learn how to appreciate history and understand how the past affects both the present and the future.

Why did you become a teacher?
I love telling and retelling stories. I enjoy sharing my passion for certain periods of time in history with others.

What is your favorite part about Regina so far?
The students.  They are enthusiastic, have a great attitude, and make me feel very accepted in the Regina community.

What is your favorite high school memory?
Chicago History Fair and being in athletics/extracurricular activities

What are you looking forward to most this year?
All the different masses, assemblies and events. I went to a public high school and I am amazed by the great community Regina has created which really comes through at all school events.

What is your ideal vacation?
Traveling through Europe – history, culture and the beach!

What would you be if you weren’t a teacher?
A museum curator, a historical tour guide, or a comedian.

If you could see any concert who would you see? 
Eric Church, Eminem circa 2000, or Janis Joplin

What was your favorite movie in high school?
Austin Powers, Bring it On, and Shrek.

If language wasn’t a barrier, what country would you want to teach in?   
Greece, Italy, France, or somewhere beautiful!
