Even if you are not a big basketball fan you have most likely heard the name Steph Curry. I myself have never been an ardent  fan of any particular team or player, even though I do consider myself a Bulls fan. However, Steph Curry is so undeniably talented, it’s difficult not to admire him. His skills are on par with famous names like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Michel Jordan.

His talent runs in the family.

Basketball runs in his genes. Stephen Curry is son of NBA player Dell Curry. His mother was  a Division 1 volleyball player. His younger brother Seth Curry is also a NBA star. Steph’s early basketball career started when he played basketball at Davidson College and continued when he was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 2009.

 His accuracy is insane.

Over the course of seven seasons, he has accumulated a staggering 10,203 points. In the regular season, he has made 1553 out of 1722 free throws, giving him a free throw percentage of .902.

He is down-to-earth.

Curry does not take himself too seriously. He is very humble which is is rare for someone of his skill level (cough cough, Lebron James). He is also heavily involved with the Nothing But Nets Foundation. Nothing But Nets is a foundation dedicated to distributing mosquito nets to provide protection against malaria.

He is a family man.

He and his wife Ayesha are proud parents of two daughters, Riley and Ryan. Riley steals the spotlight at  press conferences she goes to. He and his wife were college sweethearts and are now married (*insert collective sigh here*).

“Make sure you live in the moment and work your butt off every single day, and I hope I inspire people all around the world to just be themselves, be humble, and be grateful for all the blessings in your life.”
