Bob Ross is a famous painter best known for his television program The Joy of Painting, which teaches amatuers how to paint, and aired in the 1980’s. Maybe you recognize Ross for his iconic permed hair or goofy saying.

To this day, he is one of the most well-known and highest paid American painters in the country, according to Biography.com.

I decided to watch The Joy of Painting and try my hand at it. One technique I changed was that I painted on the computer. I tried to replicate two paintings using a computer program and following along with his Joy of Painting video. All of my computer paintings took about 1 hour combined.

Through this experience, I learned that Bob Ross is an extremely talented painter. He worked very fast. It is very hard to replicate his works and can be frustrating to try to do.
