Ms. Bochenek

Ms. Bochenek, originally from Mount Prospect, IL, is an 2008 alum from Regina Dominican.  She later received her undergraduate degree from Butler University in Indianapolis and her Masters from Loyola University Chicago.  Her favorite pastimes include classic cinema and playing the piano. Bochenek is a teacher  in the English department.

Why did you want to become an English teacher?
I’ve always loved literature, the arts in general.  I love making stories come to life.

What is your favorite high school memory?
Participating in the fall musicals each year.

How is Regina different from when you were a student?
Regina has come a long way, especially in technology.  For the most part, however, it’s just like when I was in school.  I could still tell you where I sat in class!

What is it like teaching your sister Emily Bochenek ’16?
It’s strange, but very fun! I love to see her and her friends every day in class.

What do you expect from your students this year?
I hope my students continue to make Regina the special place that it was for me.

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?
This changes day by day, but today it’s Cole Porter!

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Cookie dough.

Do you prefer the city or the countryside?
City.

What is the last book you read?
Hollywood Unseen: Photographs from the John Kobal Collection.
