Indiana Jones Poster Influence for Animation Series

In 2005 artist Patrick Schoenmaker was hired by Lucasfilm and American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) to create a poster depicting the famous adventurer Indiana Jones as a cartoon character.

This poster was what inspired this Indie artist to create an introduction to an imagined Indiana Jones: The Animated Series. Finally, after two years in production, where the filmmaker spent his free time lovingly creating something beautiful for fans who have been starved of a good Indie property for years.

This 1:16 cartoon draws heavily from an 1980s influence while still keeping the style fresh and interesting. Everything from the concept art to the sound design to the  animation itself meshes to create a seamless representation of what an animated show of Indiana Jones would look like.

Despite its short run time, this film manages to summarize all the key points from the main Indiana Jones franchise. From the steps of The Temple of Doom to finding the melted faces of Nazis, this adventure is masterfully handled and is worth a watch if you’ve ever loved the Indiana Jones franchise, Harrison Ford, or just want to see the art of animation in action.
