Dear Gina,

Hi! I need help with Winter Bash. I don’t know if I want to go. Should I?

Dear Dance-Distressed,
Winter Bash is a such a fun experience at Regina! I definitely think you should go because it is a great way to make memories with your friends and have a really fun night. You get the chance to dress up and feel special for the night and it can be so fun.

However, if dancing is not your idea of a good time, you could still plan a fun after-party with your friends for after the dance. This also gives you the chance to see your friends and have a fun time. You can even plan to have a theme for your party!

Winter Bash can be as fun as you want it to be, so have a positive attitude and fun ideas ready for a great night.

Dear Gina,

I understand seniors not being able to have high slits or plunging neck lines for prom, but why are seniors not allowed open back dresses at prom?

Dear Prom-Problems,
Your question can be answered in one word: modesty. According to Regina’s dress code one goal of the dress code is as follows: “to be in good taste and to ensure modesty”. Prom is a formal event and the dress code ensures that everyone is in good taste and dressed appropriately. There is also confusion on what type of dress is considered modest or formal enough. Mr. Brodeur ensures that if you have questions with the modesty of your dress that you can ask him to look at it.

It is also important to note that these rules have been in place for a long time at Regina and there has not been many problems concerning prom dresses since the rules were put in place. However, if you show up to prom in an inappropriate dress, you will have to wear a coverup for the entire night.

I understand that prom is such a stressful time and finding your perfect dress is no easy task, and most styles are more revealing and less modest. However, if you start your search now, I’m sure you will have a better chance at finding an appropriate and beautiful prom dress!

Dear Gina,

Waiting to hear from the rest of the colleges I applied to is driving me crazy, Gina! What should I do?

Dear College-Confused,
I’m sure many seniors feel the same as you! My advice is to take a deep breath and relax. Sometimes it takes a while for colleges to review your transcripts and applications, but when it comes to college decisions, a few weeks can seem like a few years!

Just remember this simple fact: you have done everything that can be done for your college application. It is out of your hands! However, if you are still stressed out over your college applications, you can follow this quick tip.

Distract yourself by doing other things throughout your day! Hang out with your friends or watch something on Netflix to ease your mind. Maybe even find a new hobby to try out, go on Pinterest to check out easy crafts that you can do at home or different recipes to make.

This time can be especially stressful, but if you just remember to take a break once in a while, then I’m sure you will feel so much better!
