Last year, the volleyball team made Regina Dominican proud by winning the Regional championship. The team was relatively young with only graduating three seniors: Kayley Philbin, Lily Hackett, and Shaun O’Brien.

The team this year is comprised of a huge senior group of girls including:  Allie Svachula, Sam Koutnik, Maddy Fox, Bella D’Agostino, Maddi Wilson, Calin Stucki, Emily Zalinski, and Regina Trejo. All eight seniors and the rest of the team want this year to be as memorable as last.

This year we have eight seniors and we want to put our last four years of hard work to use while building the program to stay strong after we leave.”

One of the goals for the 2016 season is to strive for a winning season and to bring the gap of the different age levels together. A way of doing that is by having team bonding exercises to help bring the team together.

The seniors departure is going to be a hard goodbye for junior Kelly French who has played with the seniors since she was a freshman.

“The seniors make up over half our team so they have taught all of us a lot and it is going to be different without them. I hope we can carry on the things they’ve taught us after they leave,” said French.

Overall, the Regina Dominican 2016 volleyball team is looking to do well against their competition. They are excited to go as far as last year, and the seniors are excited to have a memorable season.
