A new club this year, Project Hippocrates, focuses on research and exploring careers in medicine and was started by Helena Walo ’18. To get her incredible idea up and running, Walo talked to Academic Dean Mrs. Allworth ’77 who was very helpful in guiding Walo to follow the steps to get the club up and running.

Throughout the year, the members will be discussing particular careers related to medicine and the requirements needed to major in the field. Experts in the medical field will be invited to Regina Dominican to discuss their particular areas of study.

Walo said, “Our upcoming project is to get all club members CPR certified.”

Experts in the medical field will be invited to Regina Dominican throughout the year to talk about what they do and hopefully inspire the students to follow in their footsteps. Another activity members of the club will take part in is fundraising in order to donate to different local charities to help the less fortunate.

The club is a great opportunity for students to think about their future in the many areas that medicine has to offer. Contact Helena Walo for more information.
