Regina Dominican welcomes the kind and fun-loving Mrs. Salerno to the art department this year. As a passionate artist, Mrs. Salerno is not only the new art teacher, but  she is also the Art Club and National Art Honor Society moderator and Student Council co-moderator. With a Bachelor Degree of Arts in studio art and a degree in secondary education, she is ready to illustrate the arts at Regina Dominican.

Before her arrival at Regina, Mrs. Salerno attended Onahan Elementary and Taft High School. After graduation, she secured her degree at Northeastern Illinois University, and was offered a job as an art teacher at Resurrection College Prepatory High School. Unfortunately, after an astonishing 25 years of teaching, her position became part-time. Fortunately, she was hired at Regina to teach art.

She is beyond excited about her role in the community, as she loves teaching in an all-girls environment. As she put it, she “…couldn’t be happier to be here!”

Regina aside, Mrs.Salerno finds passion in other artistic outlets. Food photography and home decor are among these other hobbies. She enjoys watching the Cubs and reveling in the serene fall season. When she’s not leading an art class, she spends time with her high school sweetheart of 24 years and three children.

Since the start of the school year, Mrs.Salerno has made such a positive and colorful impact on the Panther community!
